When my eldest son was born, my American sister-in-law sent him a cot quilt. When the second child arrived, the quilt she sent him was too big for the cot. As the first child refused to swap, I decided to have a go at making a cot quilt myself using leftover dressmaking fabric from the 1970's. This was my first quilt - a rather inauspicious start to what became a very long, obsessive journey!
