At various stages during the year it took to make the quilts for Paisley Parade, they were scattered around the room to try to plan and harmonise the colour scheme.

As work progressed there was a mixture of fabric and completed quilts. Due to the evolving nature of both the designs and the gallery, the quilts were not designed, nor any new fabric sourced, in the order they were finally displayed.

As the deadline was tight for the number of hand-stitched quilts proposed, time had to be used efficiently. It was important to always have the next quilt marked and ready to quilt. 'Binding sessions' to finish the edges of several quilts at a time kept the 'production line' flowing.
